What Is The HHF & Why Does It Exist?

Did you know that the gross median household income of Hinton, WV is an estimated $21,000 per year?[1]  That is $17,000 less than the state average and a whopping $29,000 less than the national average![2]  Perhaps this lack of financial opportunity is related to Hinton's 9% decline in population since the year 2000 in addtion to a rise in high school dropouts and a rise in drug related crimes.[3][4]  The Hinton Hope Foundation was created to help tackle these financial and social issues at the root of the source on a community level. 

 

​How It Works.

The Hinton Hope Foundation will sponsor at least 3 different community reinvestment projects/events per year to bring FUN, HOPE and ACTION back in to the county.  Each project idea comes from someone within the community (you) and will be designed to benefit the community as a whole in some manner, I.E. creating more jobs, creating FUN community events, creating community outreach programs, or creating an income flow and/or re-evalutaion plan to support current programs.  Projects are designed to be fun as well as beneficial by giving young people alternative methods of creativity, fun and involvement.
